Bethany Global University (BGU) in conjunction with Hand In Hand Christian Montessori School will launch the Bethany Children’s House in September on the BGU campus. Hand In Hand Christian Montessori School, the largest Christian Montessori school in Minnesota with over 260 children, will operate the program. The Children’s House (ages 3-6) will operate five days a week and offer half and full day programs.

BGU offers a minor in Early Childhood Education to its students. The preschool serves as a learning lab for Bethany students so they can work with children in a wide variety of ways.

The term “Montessori” comes from Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian doctor. She was a pioneer in her thoughts and actions towards children. She gave children tools that would expedite and facilitate their love for learning.

Dr. Hughes, president of the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology writes, “Montessori education presents a radically effective education approach that may be the best method to ensure the optimal cognitive, social, and emotional development of every child.”

Not only will families in the community be blessed by this very unique education for their children, but also Bethany students taking the Early Childhood Education minor will gain an outstanding practical experience in working with children. By 2025 the vision is to start 25 Christian Montessori schools worldwide. There is no other North American Christian college that offers training like BGU does in Montessori education.
