After one unbelievable year of growing together in the Lord, embracing thrilling adventures together through astounding events like Campsplosion, The Forge and Furnace, Orientation Week, Men and Women’s Retreat, Campus Preview Weekend, and getting to know one another as the second family we have become, the 2015-2016 school year came to a wrap up last week. Excitement flooded the school as students finished up with their final homework assignments, while heartwarming goodbyes accompanied the excitement as students recited their final farewells for the summer season.
“I would be saying goodbye to this new home of mine for the next few months. Making a new home and finding a new family is not something that happens all that often. Saying, ‘So long’ isn’t all that bad, it’s the thought of nearly 4 months without these people that kept coming up.”
Last week, students and staff came together to celebrate our final events: the Graduation Banquet and Ceremony. At the Graduation Banquet, our community had the chance to look back on the remarkable year we had together, being reminded of all the great moments our community experienced this year through a video put together by our school’s media team. It was an excellent time for conversations and laughs; a time to reminiscence on the beautiful times that the Lord provided this year. At the Graduation Ceremony, the BGU community had the opportunity to show support and appreciation for the graduating members of our community, partaking in this significant occasion with them, praying for them, and lifting them up to the Lord as they became commissioned missionaries.
As a freshman student, this was one of the greatest years of my life. Coming out of my dark life before the Lord only a few months before my time at BGU, God provided enormous healing and renewal through this wonderful community. It has been a blessing to be a part of BGU, and I can’t wait to come back in the fall.
If you’d like to join us next year, we are still taking applications for this fall. Click here to apply today.
Thank you everyone, for this delightful year together. Be blessed, and have a wonderful summer.
