Who am I? Why am I this way? Why do I look like this? Why am I never good enough? – Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions? These are some questions I’ve asked in my life, and I now know why I asked them. It was because I did not know who I was in Christ! My identity in Christ has been something that I have struggled with a lot of my life. I had many issues in the past, though I was the one who put myself through them. I, my flesh, was the cause of my own emotional pain, depression, loneliness, and a false view of myself.I was lost in a never ending tunnel of lies straight from the deceiver himself. But God is faithful, and let me tell you that to those whom He has called, He also seeks out. He pulled me out of that hole, the miry clay (Ps.40:2). I have discovered that once I began to truly draw near to Jesus and learn who He is and what He thinks of me, I have learned who I really am. Once you truly adopt the fact that in Christ you have your worth and reason for living, you experience true freedom from these thoughts and wrong views of yourself that hold you down and prevent you from living the life God has called you to live.
I want to ask you today,do you know who you are? Regardless if you already do, I want to remind you right now of who you are to the almighty God, your creator,as well as that of heaven and earth… You are loved (Jn. 3:16) You were predestined (Eph. 1:11) You are dead to sin (Rom. 6:11) You are a delight (Ps. 147:11) You are an heir of God (Titus 3:7) You are anointed (1 Jn. 2:20) You are blameless (1 Cor. 1:8) You are brought near (Eph. 2:13) You are controlled by the love of Christ (1 Cor. 5:14) You are qualified (Col. 1:12) You are complete in Christ (Col. 2:10) You are a first fruit (Rom. 8:23) You are His handiwork (Eph. 2:10) You are an instrument of righteousness(Rom. 6:13) You are inscribed in His palms (Isa.49:16) You have received an unshakable Kingdom (Heb. 12:28) You loved constantly and unconditionally (Isa. 43:4) You are never forsaken (Heb. 13:5) You are known (2 Tim. 2:19) You are rare (Prov. 20:15) You have received mercy (1 Peter 2:10) You are a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17) You are a partaker of Christ (Heb.3:14) You are the salt of the earth (Matt.5:13) You are royalty (Rom. 5:17; 8:16-17) You are unblemished (Col. 1:22) You are worthy (Rev. 3:4) You are useful for His glory (Isa.43:7) You are understood (Eph. 1:8) You are rooted and built up in Him(Col. 2:7) You are yoked with Jesus (Matt. 11:29) …And this list is just the beginning.I encourage you to read through the Word and discover what else the Lord thinks about you, there is so much! He thinks so highly of you, never forget this!
