It wasn’t what I expected. When I finally had a chance to go overseas to visit one of BGU’s Global Internship sites, after marketing the program for four years, I had a chance to see what was really going on. Global Internship is full of surprises. The good, hard, and sometimes incredibly awkward. It’s all part of the process. The process of becoming cross-cultural, of being vulnerable, and embracing the unknown. It’s the path you will take if you want to become a missionary overseas. We made a video to capture some of those moments and talk to the students who were overseas in the Republic of Georgia. If you have wondered what life is like overseas or what the Global Internship is like, take a look. It’s not the same as visiting yourself, but it’s certainly the next best thing.

My final two cents. Global Internship is a challenging, but incredibility rewarding program. The students that hosted us had figured out how to speak the language, get around, eat, study, make friends, do ministry, and simply thrive overseas. They were incredible and I praying my two kids choose to come to school here (even if they decide not to be missionaries). Question. If we covered another site, which Global Internship site would you have us shoot next? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter.
