The End of me, and the Beginning of Him

Written by BGU

This post was written by Rocky Pabon, a current student engaged in BCOM’s summer work program.

I was asked to write a blog about what the Lord has been teaching me lately, and when the words left the lips of the person asking me, I kind of had a cross between a laugh and a chuckle with a confused mutter, almost saying, “God, I don’t really know what You’re teaching me”. I don’t fully understand His ways. I don’t fully understand why certain things in life happen, and why certain things in life don’t happen. I don’t understand people, circumstances, or even my own heart. But… the power of the Holy Spirit of the living God, “this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom”. Jeremiah 10: 23 says, “O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” I know that “He is with me always, even until the end of the Age” (Matthew 28:20). I know, “Yet in ALL these things we are MORE than conquerors through HIM who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). I know that He is Good. He is Faithful. He is mighty. He is Worthy. He is Loving and Kind. He is Stronger than the enemy of my soul. He is understanding. He is Near. He is Judge of all the earth. He is seated on His throne, high above all principalities, circumstances, and feelings. All I know is that Jesus’ Word will remain. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away (Matthew 24:35).
