Be a Missionary In Ljubljana, Slovenia
Slovenia is known for its rich culture and a long history that predates the Roman Empire. For much of the 20th century, Slovenia was a part of Yugoslavia. But since becoming an independent nation in 1991, Slovenia has been able to recover from the economic damage caused by communism. As far as religion, Slovenia has a strong Catholic heritage but, realistically, most Slovenes don’t actually believe the Bible. Eastern thought, nominalism, and atheism are all increasing at a rapid rate. There are very few Evangelical churches and there is a growing disdain for organized religion.
Bethany Gateways has sent long-term workers to Slovenia that you will work alongside. They are involved in various community initiatives, they have launched a publishing house, and they manage several schools and a youth outreach center. They are also working to train pastors, leaders, and church planters. In Slovenia, your group will have the opportunity to work alongside our long-term workers to participate in the great Gospel ministry that they are already engaged in.
